L.A.R.I.D.M.E est un espace d’échange et de discussion autour de la thématique du futur. Celui-ci permet, à travers une expérience sensible, d’explorer et de contribuer à l’écriture d’un ensemble de visions futuristes. L’installation prend place dans une pièce vide plongée dans le noir et suffisamment grande pour y déambuler. Dans cet espace les visiteurs équipés de casques audio modifiés sont guidés par une voix et partent à la découverte d’un territoire sonore. Grâce à un système de géolocalisation indoor embarqué dans le casque et à un algorithme de spatialisation du son, des sources sonores virtuelles sembles être réparties dans la pièce. Le visiteur entend les sons présent à proximité en fonction de leurs ”positions” (à sa gauche, derrière lui..). L’ensemble de ces enregistrements audios sont des propositions de futurs potentiels, formulées et déposées par les visiteurs précédents. chacun est invité à y contribuer en déposant à un endroit précis sa propre vision futuriste.
The future is built as much with technological advances as with imagination. It is a field of possibilities that has to be redefined constantly, hence the responsibility we have to question ourselves on the possible outcomes. As important, is to think collectively about it. In D.A.D.O.E.S participants are invited to explore a participative vision of the futures. Equipped with headsets and smartphones they wander an empty room set in the dark. In this room they discover thoughts and reflections about the future left by the previous users. As for traditional sounds the proposition playing in the headset are spacialized. Meaning that they are dependent on the listener’s position and orientation relative to the sources. The users are invited to participate to the construction of the soundscape, by recording a sound, a question or a thought. Once completed the recording drops where the speaker is standing in the room. The room reflects the continuation of the ‘dialogue’ which the participants took part in. Every deployment of the installation is unique, for it depends on the public.
